A creative economy is the fuel of magnificence.
Ralph Waldo Emerson 1803-1882

Silicon Valley's reputation for excellence lies in its technological and economic achievement. Building on this base and the incredible milieu for all manner of innovation, Silicon Valley can pioneer the next-generation metropolitan community. The region can be the first in history to consciously develop and connect creative capacity across business, scientific and cultural realms.

The Creative Communities paper argues that moving in this direction is essential not just for achieving a higher quality community in our near future, but for the Valley's long term economic and civic achievement.

The Creative Community: Leveraging Creativity and Cultural Participation for Silicon Valley's Economic and Civic Future (635K)
