technical
assistance
Goal: Provide ongoing, customized technical expertise and
mentorship to school grant recipient program managers and stakeholders
in support of each sites program objectives.
One
aspect of the Creative Education Program is our commitment to providing
technical assistance to sites receiving a School Grant. Our experienced
Arts Education Mentors provide up to 20 hours per month of customized
assistance for each School Grant site. Forms of support include implementation
of the California Department of Education's MAP Toolkit arts program assessment,
strategic planning, fund resource identification, proposal writing, curriculum
development and adoption, teacher training, and the cultivation of relationships
between schools and arts providers.
The
Creative Education Program staff develops and implements monthly School
Grant Workshops designed to provide program managers and other district
representatives with tools and information to support sustainable arts
programs. Workshops explore alternative funding mechanisms, grant proposal
writing, student-level arts assessment, national arts initiatives, model
arts programs, and other topics.
